Back Stretch – Forward Fold with Bent Knees

Stretch your back sitting or standing! (and get a hamstring bonus)
This stretch is great because you can make it a back stretch by bending your knees, or a hamstring stretch by keeping your knees straight. If you go to a yoga class, this stretch is often done with both straight and bent knees in the same class. A tight low back can pull on your hamstrings and tight hamstrings can pull on your low back so stretching both will ensure you get the most out of your stretch time. You might be surprised what is tighter.
For best results pull your abs in toward your spine and breath into your back. Don’t forget to relax into the stretch and breathe! Also, remember to relax your head and not strain your neck.
