Calf Stretch: Toes Up Wall

Do you stretch your calves but still find that they, or your ankles, feel tight?
You stretch your calves after running or walking, but do you get both the gastrocnemius AND the soleus? We find that most people know stretches to get their gastroc, feeling it high in the calf. This muscle crosses the knee joint and is worked and stretched effectively with the knee straight. But underneath this muscle lies the soleus which is important to stretch as well and is often forgotten. This muscle does not cross the knee joint and is best worked and stretched effectively with the knee bent. This vlog gives you a stretch to get both!
Do you feel a difference in these two stretches? If you’ve been doing a lot of walking, running or stair climbing, add both to your post-workout stretch routine!
