Get relief from seasonal allergies with these nutrient healers

April brings on allergy symptoms for many of us. If you have multiple environmental allergies you may not get relief until November! That’s a lot of time to be taking antihistamine meds, eye drops and nasal sprays! Try these NUTRIENT healers instead!BIOFLAVONOIDS – Colorful substances found in foods, many of which have natural antihistamine properties. Load up on colorful fruits and veggies and green tea. Grape seed extract is a leading allergy treatment in Europe.
BROMELAIN – Enzyme found in plants that breaks up mucus, acts as an anti-inflammatory and decreases congestion.
CAROTENOIDS – Pigments found in naturally yellow, orange and red foods. These keep the lining of your respiratory system strong.
N-ACETYLCYSTEINE – A form of the amino acid Cysteine. The body makes some of this but you can also get it from high protein sources like eggs and meat. Garlic, onion, wheat, broccoli and red peppers are also sources.
OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS – Reduce a substance in the body that contributes to inflammation. Find this naturally in cold-water fish like salmon, anchovies, tuna, sardines and tilapia. If supplementing, look for a product that gets you 3 grams of both DHA and EPA.
VITAMIN C – Found in citrus fruits and their juices. High concentrations are found in kiwi, strawberries, lemons, oranges and papaya.
